In addition to supporting sporting charities such as the Ellie Soutter Foundation, MM Search is passionate about shining a light on grassroots sport. MM Search is committed to funding projects and supporting the development of several Scottish sports clubs, including Greenock Wanderers Rugby Football Club and Ladies 1st XV. Through hosting events and sponsorships, the team helps these important groups to grow and flourish.
“Grassroots sport plays a crucial role in so many people’s lives,” says Founding Managing Partner Derek MacFeate. “Not only is it an important source of fitness and recreation, but it often plays a key part in bringing communities together. The sense of being part of a wider team can have such a positive impact on a person, especially a child, and that’s why MM Search supports local teams such as the Greenock Wanderers.”
MM Search is proud to be the leading club and shirt sponsor of Greenock Wanderers Rugby Football Club. As well as playing an essential role within the community, this local rugby team is close to many of the MM Search team’s hearts. Derek is a coach for the team, and several of the company’s children play for GWRFC – some of who are as young as five years old!
The Covid-19 pandemic rocked grassroots sport as many teams were unable to train or raise much-needed funds through events. This means that for many groups, corporate sponsorship is more important than ever to secure their future. MM Search is delighted to have been able to retain their commitment and continue to support the Greenock Wanderers after what has been a tough financial year for the club.
As well as sponsoring the GWRFC shirts, MM Search hosts lunches throughout the season, giving the team the chance to invite clients and candidates to enjoy some excellent hospitality and brilliant rugby. “Being able to share our sporting passion with those we work with allows us to create a deeper connection with them and get a better understanding of their needs,” says Derek. “We pride ourselves on combining professionalism with personality, and having these opportunities to socialise while supporting grassroots sport in a meaningful way, is an essential aspect of that.”
