It was back to school for MM Search this week; three of the team are former pupils of St.Columba’s (all different year groups, we must add!).
Ken, Rory and intern Keava were invited to present to the SV/SVI pupils as part of the pupils’ leadership programme.
Ken Morrice, Founding Managing Partner, MM Search, said: “We were delighted to be invited to revisit our former school, meet the teachers and hear about what leadership means to young minds.
“St.Columba’s is cited as one of Scotland’s highest achieving schools, nestled in the beautiful town of Kilmacolm, near Glasgow. It aims to prepare its young people for the world in a warm and welcoming atmosphere where each pupil is known and recognised as an individual.
“Leadership is an important theme for the school and of course is at the heart of what we do at MM Search. The session’s focus was to give the pupils an insight into job hunting, provide them with the skills required to excel in interviews (both digital and in-person) and showcase the importance of interview preparation. It was also an excellent opportunity for the team at MM Search to relive old tales of school life and highlight our very different journeys and career stages. Our intern Keava was also able to explain the benefits of being an intern and what it has been like to gain real ‘live’ business experience.”
Ken ran an interactive workshop to encourage the students to think about their skills and competencies. Pupils were also invited to create a digital cover letter using the MM Search digital interview platform. They were all set a challenge; to record video interviews, MM Search will review and provide constructive feedback. Hopefully, this will help them with both university and job applications!
