Intern insights at MM Search

Keava Low, Executive Intern at MM Search

MM Search launched its first Executive Intern Programme with rising stars from top Scottish Universities in May this year. In collaboration with the Saltire Scholar internship programme, run by Entrepreneurial Scotland, MM Search has offered two paid Summer 2021 internships to students from St. Andrews University and Heriot-Watt.

The internships have been offered to third-year students Keava Low (International Relations, St. Andrews University) and Harry Browne (International Business, Heriot-Watt University) who will take on Intern Executive roles within the firm.

The first intern, Keava Low, gave us an insight into her first few weeks at MM Search:

“Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to focus on current ‘live’ commercial roles and also get some behind-the-scenes insights into a number of large projects both within the UK and internationally.

“The whole team has been really welcoming and I have enjoyed getting such great exposure to exciting projects. I work directly with founding managing partners Ken Morrice and Derek MacFeate and they've let me work not only as part of the team but also independently too, they have made me feel like much more than ‘just an intern.’

“My first few days were focused around training on platforms and understanding how the business comes together. I found this interesting and began to understand what role I would play in the process of executive search. Every day here is a bit different, but typically a normal day is a mix of meetings, virtual and occasionally an in-person catch up too, and researching client material and supporting the team across all disciplines from marketing to admin and ‘resourcing’ - a word I am now aware of!

“I am loving working with a busy fast-paced team, and I don't think I could have imagined a better first few weeks.”
