That’s why programmes like Career Ready play a vital role in connecting young individuals with meaningful workplace opportunities and mentorship. We are delighted to share that our Business Delivery Manager, Rory Cleat, has joined the Career Ready programme for 2023/2024 as a mentor, further solidifying our commitment to empowering the next generation.
Career Ready has been transforming lives and boosting social mobility for over 20 years by providing young people aged 15-18 with invaluable workplace experiences and comprehensive support. Their structured programme offers mentoring, paid internships, masterclasses, and workplace visits, equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to thrive in their chosen careers.
Upon graduation from the Career Ready programme, students gain access to a vast network of over 1,000 fellow alumni, employers, and volunteers who provide ongoing support in taking their talents to the next level. This network serves as a valuable resource for career guidance, mentorship, and professional opportunities, fostering long-term success for the participants.
“Rory is the perfect fit as a mentor for one of our students”, explains Debbie Barry, Regional Manager West and Growth Areas Scotland for Career Ready. “Calling on his own career journey so far, Rory is well-equipped to guide and inspire a young person on their journey towards success.”
Through one-on-one mentoring sessions, Rory will provide personalised guidance, share industry insights, and help nurture the mentee’s skills and confidence. The student will then take part in a 4-week paid work placement at MM Search in June 24, getting a full understanding of the different pillars of the business from Resourcing to Marketing.
Rory adds “Being a part of the Career Ready programme is a true privilege. Working alongside these bright young individuals, I am reminded of the incredible potential and passion they possess. It’s an honour to guide and support them at the very start of their career journey, knowing that I am playing a small role in shaping their futures.”
