Meet the team: Andrew Jardine

August 2022
Andrew Jardine, MM Search

Andrew joined the team during his third year at Stirling University and quickly made the role of Client Engagement Executive his own. When he’s not in the office, you’re likely to find Andrew working with his other team, Biggar Rugby Club.

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me…
Playing rugby – most of my spare time is dedicated to sport! I play for Biggar Rugby Club, and it’s a huge part of my life; I train most nights and play every weekend.

I decided I wanted to work in recruitment when…
I met with Derek and Ken. I’m still at university at the moment and I was initially talking to the team about an internship position, so I was thrilled to be offered the Client Engagement Executive role instead.

I joined the MM Search team…
In April 2022. I am working with the team full-time over the summer and I’ll go back to working part-time when I return to university for my final year.

The first thing I do when I get to the office is…
Caffeinate and face the day! I usually start the day by doing a commercial news review to see if there are any opportunities that we should be exploring.

My working day involves…
A lot of collaboration with the rest of the team. I also look through LinkedIn for opportunities and I do some direct client targeting too, that involves reaching out to potential clients with a recorded video message to see if we might be able to help with the roles they’re looking to fill. I also support Jen with the business’s marketing activities.

My greatest professional strength is…
Determination. I want to do well for the business and progress rather than sitting still.

The highlight of my career so far was when…
My highlights are when I manage to set up successful meetings with potential new clients for Ken, Derek and the rest of the team. It’s also a great team to be part of, working with this group of people is definitely a highlight.

The thing I love most about working with the MM Search team is…
It was a very easy environment to come into and I quickly felt settled and comfortable.

My motto is…
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

My goals for the rest of 2022 are to…
I’m still working to prove myself within the business and when I go back to university after the summer, my main goal will be to create a balance between work and my dissertation.

My secret skill/party piece is…
I can sing opera!

What was the last gift you gave someone?
I was recently in Thailand and my dad’s really into Thai food so I brought him back a recipe book and some spices – as well as a large bottle of alcohol from duty free.

If you were an animal, what would you be?
I think people in the office would say a bear!

How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?
Determined, loyal and ‘rugby’.

How would your colleagues describe you in three words?

Easy going, reliable and sporty.
