Last year, I applied for a position as a Talent Acquisition Executive with M&Co, and I loved it. It looked like a great opportunity, and I learned a lot about the recruitment process from developing interesting job adverts working with candidates, and I was given a chance to perform some informal interviews too. I loved the challenge and variety!

I feel fortunate that not long after redundancy at M&Co, I was headhunted by one of the team at MM. I met with Natalie, and she really sold it to me; I loved the sound of the company, the culture and the opportunity.
The first thing I do when I get to the office is…
I am fuel for the day kind of person, so over a bowl of cereal with the team, I am planning the day and hearing what needs to happen and when!
My working day involves…
I support the resourcing team, so I am responsible for researching for roles; I can be working on up to five roles at any one time, so it takes a lot of multitasking. I reach out to potential candidates, perform searches, set up meetings with the consultants, and am the point of communication between the team, the candidates and the client. I like the mix.
My greatest professional strength is…
Resilience – I think, especially in this industry, you need it. There can be knockbacks and wins all at once! I am always determined.
The highlight of my career so far was when…
As part of the selection process at MM Search, I had to build and present a case study to Ken and Derek, which, if I am honest, I felt was outwith my ability. But I did it; I was quietly impressed with myself and thought that even if I didn’t get the role, I had given myself the best shot. However, that evening I got a call from Ken to offer me the role. I’ll not doubt myself again after that.
The thing I love most about working with the MM Search team…
It’s a very positive, enthusiastic and relaxed working environment, everyone is supportive, and nothing is ever an issue. However, it is fast-paced, and we always strive for more, but we do get a lot of trust from the senior team.
When I’m not in work, you’ll usually find me…
I am a crafter at heart, I enjoy paper crafts and I’ve done a lot of cross-stitch – I really want to learn how to crotchet to make my own clothes. I also love to socialise with friends.

My goals for 2023…
To get the dissertation done, I am approaching my final year of studying Psychology at University, so have exams and a dissertation ahead.
My secret skill/party piece is…
I am a golfer! I used to go golfing with my dad at the weekends, and during the summer – the team figured out my skill on our recent trip to Top Golf.
