I decided I wanted to work in recruitment when…
I started researching MM Search. I was very interested in HR and, when I looked at the MM Search website, it felt like a bit of me. What really stood out was that I could see the faces of the company and learn about the team. They came across as so personable and open and it felt like the kind of environment that I wanted to be a part of. It was definitely a company-led decision.

I joined the MM Search team…
Through the Executive Intern Programme in April 2022. I spent five months doing my internship and Ken and Derek really let me dive into things, I wasn’t making coffee or doing the printing – we actually don’t have a printer! They were really supportive and nurturing and helped me to build confidence with speaking to clients.

The first thing I do when I get to the office is…
I go through my emails and see if there’s anything I need to chase up from the previous day.

My working day involves…
Working with lots of different candidates so I spend a lot of my time checking in with them so that I can keep the roles moving. I also work closely with the Business Delivery Managers so it’s important that I make time to maintain my relationship with them and that we’re communicating effectively.

My greatest professional strength is…
That I really care. I’m really invested in the candidates and the clients, and I want to make sure that everyone is happy and that their needs are being met.

The highlight of my career so far was when…
I got to shake hands with a candidate I had placed. The candidate had contacted us as they were looking to develop their career and didn’t feel like they were getting that in their existing role. They dropped into the office a few weeks later and they were really excited about the new role that I helped them to secure and that was quite special.

The thing I love most about working with the MM Search team is…
The team has so much energy and excitement and it’s never boring! There are lots of brilliant personalities in the office and we have great laughs every day, it’s an excellent working environment. We also have a lot of social events which really recharge my batteries. We recently had our four-year celebration, and it was brilliant to see the whole team come together and reflect on their time in the business.

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me…
Up a wall! I love rock climbing and try to go to my local climbing centre once or twice a week. It’s a great way to get out of my head, do a bit of exercise and catch up with my friends too.

My motto is…
Everything’s going to be okay! There are always ups and downs, both in life and in work, but it’s important to remember that it’s a temporary moment and that things will change and improve.

My goals for the rest of 2022 are to…
I have exams in December so I’m studying for them as well as working towards my professional goals. I want to become a Business Delivery Manager so I hope to move closer to that and to start planning my career as a graduate too.

My secret skill/party piece is…
I’m excellent at tracking things down on eBay! If someone shows me a picture of a piece of clothing, I can work out where it was sold originally and hunt it down online – it can be a useful skill!

What was the last gift you gave someone?
My boyfriend recently got a new job and I bought him a little garden gnome to say congratulations – he loved it! I like finding quirky little gifts for people.

If you were an animal, what would you be?
A dolphin because they’re intelligent, sensitive and they work really well as a team. They’re also a bit of fun which I think is a good combination of attributes!

How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?
Passionate, upbeat and sensitive.

How would your colleagues describe you in three words?
Upbeat, driven and supportive.
