MM Athletes: Ken Morrice
Our MM Athletes programme is now well underway, allowing us to continue to support a dynamic array of talented sportspeople from various disciplines.
As well as proudly sponsoring legendary Scottish weightlifter, George Byng, Glasgow City Football Club goalkeeper Lee Gibson, MM Search Client Engagement Executive and Scottish rugby player Andy Jardine, and Inverclyde weightlifting champion Denise Trayling, MM Search’s very own Ken Morrice will be receiving the support of the business as he prepares for an exciting (and utterly astonishing) year of sport!
MM Search Founding Managing Partner, Ken Morrice, is a dedicated triathlete and can often be spotted cycling around Glasgow or training in the chilly waters of Loch Lomond. He has even been known to do business whilst out a run or on the bike! 2022 saw Ken travel overseas to participate in international events, including the European Aquathlon Championships in Bilbao, where he placed 14th, and the World Aquathlon Championships in Slovakia, where he placed 10th in the world.
However, 2023 will be even busier and Ken will be representing Great Britain alongside many other talented teammates at the Championships, the event will see him race against the best competitors in his age group from around the continent.
“I am beyond delighted to be part of the Great Britain Age-Group Team,” says Ken. “It’s such a privilege to be competing alongside a group of people who are so passionate about their sport, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to race at such a high level.
“It’s a big personal feat to get to this stage, but I am a huge believer that hard work pays off both at work and in training. At this stage, it is all about training; knowing when to train and when to rest, it is both a physical and mental challenge and one that I relish.”
It’s safe to say that Ken’s impressive drive for competition has laid the groundwork for a thriving business that’s built on passion, resilience, and pace – some of the fundamental values at MM Search that we hold in high regard. We are deeply impressed by Ken’s achievements and the way he has incorporated his passion into his business.
Some of Ken’s upcoming events include the 2023 European Sprint Distance Triathlon Championships taking place in June 2023 in Madrid, for which MM Search will provide Ken with strip sponsorship for his debut at the event. “I’m very proud to be able to wear the MM Search logo on my shirt while competing on an international stage,” says Ken. “The whole team has offered unwavering supportive over the last few months and it’s my great honour to be sponsored by the business.”
Ken is undoubtedly no stranger to impressive sporting events and in 2021 he took part in a gruelling Ironman competition in which he swam 3.8km, cycled 180km and completed a full marathon. Despite being one the toughest physical challenges he has undertaken, Ken is now considering taking on a second Ironman in the future.
“This weekend I’m competing in the World Aquathlon Championships 2023, held in Ibiza and in July I’ll be heading to Hamburg for the World Sprint Triathlon Championships. I’m also preparing for the European Aquathlon Championships 2023 taking place in Menen, Belgium late August and the World Olympic Distance Triathlon Championships in Spain in September this year.
“I’ve definitely got a very busy few months ahead of me but I’m looking forward to giving this my absolute all and, hopefully, to making the whole MM Search team proud!”
